2008 Summer League

A trunkful of discs means it's, once again, time for Summer League!

"When a ball dreams, it dreams it's a frisbee."
- Stancil Johnson

Every serious player needs water, no matter what the sport.

White gets the D.

White races for the disc...

...but gravity wins. This time.

It's not textbook, but it's effective, and all catches are equal.

The afternoon of June 9th brought torential rains. Eventually, the sky cleared enough to allow play, but not before the official games were cancelled. Those who waited out the rain played a few impromptu games.

Some took cover under their discs while waiting for the rain to stop.

Despite the conditions, a few brave spectators showed up.

The ability to read the disc is an important skill to acquire.

It's good to see the joy of playing in the mud has not been lost.

Yellow goes high.

White goes low.

Ready...

...Aim...

...Fire!

White looking to connect.

Blue impersonates Peter Pan: flying high, but lacking a shadow.

Red tries out his impersonation of Peter Pan. He's got the
'flying high' part right, but still needs to lose his shadow.

Red, Green and Blue throw around before the games begin.

Orange gets a hand block.

White gets a different kind of hand block.

Green makes a diving catch.

White grabs the disc.

Doh!

A number of spectators gather to watch the final game.

The trophy is hoisted high.

And everybody wants a piece of it.

Champs.
